Ammar Ahmed, MD Assistant Professor – University of Texas Southwestern Austin Programs Dr. Ahmed joined the faculty of the University of Texas Physicians on August 1, 2011. He practices general dermatology at both the downtown and Hays locations with expertise in medical, surgical and cosmetic dermatology. Both locations are open to all new patients, both adults and children. Dr. Ahmed was born in Charleston, West Virginia. He is a graduate of Rice University and Baylor College of Medicine, and completed his dermatology residency at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, where he served as Clinic Chief Resident. He has a special interest in disorders of pigmentation including vitiligo, melasma, and other disorders of hyper- and hypo-pigmentation. In addition, he has expertise in procedural treatments such as lasers and punch grafting. Dr. Ahmed is actively involved in research, having published and presented numerous peer-reviewed articles and abstracts. His research on melasma was presented at the 2011 World Congress of Dermatology in South Korea. In his free time, Dr. Ahmed enjoys spending time with family, hiking, boating and camping. Dayna Diven, MD Professor – University of Texas Southwestern Austin Programs Associate Program Director – UT Southwestern Austin Dermatology Training Program Dr. Diven is Professor of Dermatology at UT Southwestern Austin Program and a Clinical Professor of Dermatology at UTMB. She grew up in California, attended University of Arizona for college and UTMB Galveston for Medical School. Her residency training consisted of one year of Internal Medicine and 3 years of Dermatology residency both at UTMB. Other than a few years in private practice in Boise, Idaho, Dr. Diven has spent her career in association with teaching institutions where she sees patients, conducts research and helps to train resident doctors and students. Jason S. Reichenberg, MD Clinical Director of Dermatology Jason S. Reichenberg, MD, is the Clinical Director of Dermatology for UT Physicians. He has published papers and performed research relating to drug-induced skin reactions, eczema, lupus, blistering disorders, vascular disease and skin-based signs of internal disease. He performs NIH-sponsored research on the early diagnosis of skin cancer, and helps direct resident and medical student education in Dermatology for the University of Texas. He has a passion for working with children and adults. Dr. Reichenberg was born in New York, and graduated from Boston University School of Medicine. He completed his medical internship and his residency in dermatology at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. In 2005, he was asked to be the American representative at the Irish Academy of Dermatology meeting in Cork, Ireland, and in 2007, he presented his work to the World Congress of Dermatology in Argentina. He has been invited to speak at conferences throughout Texas and the country, and has volunteered at a camp for children with severe skin conditions.
